Washington- DC Stoddert Soccer will be hosting its first free play-day in observance of NGWSD. The event will be held at GDS Lower School on Saturday, February 8th. To register, click the link here.
The one-hour long program will include small-sided games, snacks, giveaways, and more. The event is limited to 40 participants and will be run by DC Stoddert Soccer staff.
“We are very excited to be hosting a play-day for National Girls and Women in Sports Day,” said Executive Director Jennifer Gootman. “This day is very important, and we wanted to celebrate it right by making the event free.
DC Stoddert Soccer is the largest youth sports program for girls in the city, and partners with the Washington Spirit, a team in the National Women’s Soccer League.
The Club offers seasonal Recreational, All-Star, and Futsal leagues, girls and boys U9-U19 Travel teams, U7-U8 Juniors teams, and summer Super Y teams and men’s and women’s U-23 teams.
Since its inception in 1987, NGWSD recognizes women’s contributions to sports and society during the first week of February.
