Girls Coaching Staff


Alex Minton currently serves as Program Manager at DC Stoddert. Prior to that, he was the Director of Coaching for five years at Tallahassee Tottenham Hotspur FC.

Minton’s coaching stops included four years on the technical training and coaching staff for Tallahassee United FC and a stint as a volunteer assistant coach at Florida State.

Originally from England, Minton played for Luton Town Football Club for 10 years. He then went on to play at the collegiate level at Stetson University in Florida.

Minton has earned United Soccer Coaches Premier Diploma and holds a PFA Level-2 license, a National Youth License and is a member of the Professional Footballers Association.


Amanda Casares is originally from Rahway, NJ and played college soccer at Binghamton University. While at Binghamton, Casares was a two-year captain, a two-year NSCAA All-Region player, a three-year All-American East player, and was awarded the Binghamton University John Bilos award for most outstanding career.

After her time at Binghamton, Casares played semi-professionally in the Women’s Premier Soccer League for the Adirondack Lync in 2009 and for the the NJ Rangers of the W League in 2010. After her playing career ended, Casares started her coaching career as a Volunteer Assistant with the Binghamton University Women’s Soccer Team in 2011.

Casares currently coaches Stoddert’s Girls U13 and U14 Blue Metros and has her USSF C Coaching License, NSCAA Premier Diploma, National Youth License, and NSCAA Goalkeeping Level 1 Diploma. In 2017 Casares was named DC Stoddert’s Travel Coach of the Year and was named to the 2017-2018 United Soccer Coaches 30 Under 30 Program.


Andre Russo is an Italian national born in Rome, Italy who played initially for the Don Orione Academy in Rome before moving to the United States as a teenager. He was a stand-out player George Washington University where he played and started all four years.

Coach Andre played semi-professionally in the American Soccer League for the Fairfax Spartans and the  Washington Stars reserves which at the time had many of the 1990 US National Team players.

Russo holds his USSF National C License and in his 14 years of coaching has won over 50 tournaments and league titles. He currently coaches Stoddert’s Girls U15 and U16 Blue Metros.


Jeffrey Ditto, of Kensington, Md., played soccer throughout high school. He was a part of teams that were Maryland State 3A semi-finalists in 2003 and 2004 and won the National Soccer Hall of Fame Game Tournament in 2003. He is one of DC Stoddert’s newest coaches with one year of coaching experience. He currently coaches Stoddert’s Girls U11 and U12 White Metros and has his USSF D Coaching License.


Originally from Panama, Jorge Hunt resides in Silver Spring, Md. He has 25 years of coaching experience and a USSF D Coaching License.

Hunt has over 200 career wins and has served in various coaching roles around the DMV area including Georgetown Day School. Currently coaches Stoddert’s Girls U13 and U14 Red Metros.


Originally from Vienna, VA, Kate Murphy played college soccer at Mount Saint Mary’s University. After college, Murphy served as an assistant coach at Penn State Harrisburg, before returning to the DMV. She began her coaching career on the youth-side with Vienna Youth Soccer before joining DC Stoddert.

Murphy is currently DC Stoddert Soccer’s Travel Director as well as the Head Coach of the Woodrow Wilson Girls Varsity Soccer team and coaches Stoddert’s Girls U11 and U12 Red Metros. She has her USSF D Coaching License and National Youth License, and is pursuing her USSF C Coaching License.


 Kevin Rivera was born and raised in Washington, D.C. and was team captain at Woodrow Wilson High School in his final season. He then went on to play collegiate soccer at Louisburg college.

After his time as Louisburg, Rivera played for Capital City FC in the Washington Premier League. He started his coaching career at 13 years old when he was a Soccer Counselor for National Capital Soccer Academy.

He currently holds a US Youth Soccer National Youth License, and USSF D Coaching License and coaches Stoddert’s Girls U10 White team.

Coming from Yemen, Khaled Hamami has 18 years of experience coaching travel soccer and four years of experience coaching ODP state teams. Following his playing career, Hamami pursued coaching and holds his USSF A Coaching License, National Youth License, and DOC Diploma.

In addition to being DC Stoddert’s Acting Technical Director, he currently coaches Stoddert’s Girls U11 Blue and U12 Blue Metros. Hamami was named DC Stoddert Coach of the Year in 2009 and 2014.

Kimberly Love is originally from Cincinnati, Ohio and college soccer at Purdue University. She started coaching during her time at Purdue where she was a coach at Purdue’s overnight soccer camps. Love has been with Stoddert for two years as Stoddert’s Girls U9 and U10 Red teams and has her Grassroots License. She will continue to coach the Girls U9 and U10 Red teams this season.

Mavis Danso is originally from Ghana and came to the United States to play college soccer at Robert Morris University where she was a two-time NAIA player of the year.

After college, Danso played in two Women’s World Cups and four African Women Cup of Nations for the Ghanaian National Team. She also played soccer professionally in the WUSL and the USWSL.

Danso has 11 years of coaching experience and a USSF B Coaching License. She currently coaches Stoddert’s Girls U9 and U10 Blue Metros. In 2013, Danso was inducted into the Robert Morris University Hall of Fame.
