Coach: DC Stoddert 2005 Coach of the Year Evans Malyi (USSF National Youth License and B License) played at the University of Maryland and on the Washington Mustangs.

Tryouts:   Blue Lightning, a strong, skilled team with many of its original members, has lost just 5 games in five seasons and narrowly missed advancing to Division 2 in fall 2006. This spring, the team advanced in the Virginia State Cup competition and is currently ranked among the top 25 teams statewide by the NationalSoccerRankings.com Web site.

The team, which practices in upper Northwest DC on Mondays and Wednesdays, also plays in a winter indoor league at the Maryland Soccerplex. Players interested in trying out should contact manager Kelly O’Dell.
