We are updating the information on the club web site about H1N1. We want to make sure you and your family are following good preventive practice to minimize the risk of you getting seasonal and H1N1 influenza.
As we approach flu season the number of confirmed cases continues to increase in our area, but life goes on. The public authorities have clear protocols for closing schools and for sending sick children home.
DC Stoddert Soccer continues to monitor the situation closely and will follow the lead of area school districts and public health advisories. Games are proceeding but please check www.stoddert.com for any updates.
There are some common-sense precautions that are in the best interests of our Stoddert families and players.
* If your son or daughter has a cough, cold or flu, keep them safe at home for 24 hours after symptoms have cleared.
* Have your children immunized for regular and H1N1 flu when vaccines are available.
* Remind your children to cover their nose and mouth with their sleeve or a tissue when they sneeze and dispose of any tissues immediately in that handy trash bag your team brings to the field.
* Replace the post game hand shake with a post game cheer or round of applause for the opposition. * Have players wash their hands before eating anything at the field - hand sanitizers should be part of the game day kit
* Make sure players are not sharing drinking bottles or cups
