Every season, more than 5,000 youngsters get to play and enjoy soccer on our city’s fields thanks to the efforts of hundreds of DC Stoddert volunteers and dedicated adults. These plucky individuals coach our kids, line fields, referee games, organize snacks, manage teams and drive players to practices and games. This year, we honor several individuals whose exceptional contributions captured the hearts of members and the spirit of all that DC Stoddert Soccer stands for.

Coach Don Blanchon

 

Coaches of the Year: Don Blanchon, left, longtime coach of U15 Space Aliens as well as coach of
the GHS Eagles; U11 Blue Dragons; and GU11 Blue Dragons;

Windsor Freemyer, GU9 coach and GU9 Commissioner

Travel Coach of the Year: Mohan Telfer, whose U15 Rockets advanced every season for the last three and won the NCSL Div 4 division championship this fall; coach of the GU13 Blue Mischief; and co-coach of the GU9-10 Developmental squads.
