Seeking Community Service Coordinator to develop new soccer programming in DC
 
DC Stoddert Soccer seeks a VISTA member to serve as the Community Services Coordinator.   This position will start August 6, 2018 and is made possible through Up2Us Sports, an AmeriCorps VISTA project that aim to support positive youth development principles into youth sports programming.  
 
The Community Services Coordinator, a new position for DC Stoddert Soccer, will explore options for developing & implementing new soccer programming in under-served communities in Washington, DC.  Primary roles will include:
 
  • Assessment of community centers/schools around which a program could be built
  • Develop community awareness & engagement
  • Expand/Strengthen partnerships/networks
  • Develop supporting materials
  • Help develop implementation plans
 
This is a full-time position with a one-year term.  Training and other benefits are available.  Ideal candidates are responsible, internet and MS Office savvy, able to work independently and as part of a team, strong communicators via various media, and able to think creatively.
 
DC Stoddert Soccer features a casual, yet fast-paced working environment, comfortable office set up, and an engaged staff.  Best of all, this opportunity is ideal for a candidate who wants to work hard to create opportunities for providing smiles on kids’ faces as well as positive development environments for DC-area youth.
 
This position will be filled by a VISTA volunteer (with some funding support available) and candidates must apply via the AmeriCorps site.

Intern Positions

Photo and Video Intern

DC Stoddert Soccer is seeking a Photography and Video Intern. DC Stoddert Soccer runs the largest youth soccer program in Washington, DC with as many as 6,000 players Pre-Kindergarten to High School per season. The internship will run the duration of the academic semester.

The Communications and Marketing Intern will work with the Communications Manager, as well as other staff members as needed. The intern will help with photography and video production. This position will provide opportunities to learn about sports management, sports marketing and communications, and youth programming.


Education Requirements:
Current college Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior


Minimum Requirements:

·      Strong communications skills and the ability to effectively communicate

·      Proficiency in Photoshop and Adobe Premier

·      Must have their own DSLR camera

·      Weekend work availability

·      The ability to understand and execute tasks as given by staff members

·      Hardworking and outgoing; ability to multi-task and execute responsibilities in a timely manner


Preferred Requirements:

·      Basic understanding of the soccer/youth sports

·      Desire to work in a non-profit environment

·      Someone who is a go-getter and will come up with ideas to try to improve the overall experience for those around them


Graphic Design Intern


DC Stoddert Soccer is seeking a Graphic Design Intern. DC Stoddert Soccer runs the largest youth soccer program in Washington, DC with as many as 6,000 players Pre-Kindergarten to High School per season. The internship will run the duration of the academic semester.

The Graphic Design Intern will work with the Communications Manager, as well as other staff members as needed. The intern will help with creating branded graphics for both web and print. This position will provide opportunities to learn about sports management, sports marketing and communications, and youth programming.


Education Requirements:
Current college Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior


Minimum Requirements:

·      Strong communications skills and the ability to effectively communicate

·      Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator

·      Creative individual with an eye for design and ability to blend personal style with company branding

·      The ability to understand and execute tasks as given by staff members

·      Hardworking and outgoing; ability to multi-task and execute responsibilities in a timely manner


Preferred Requirements:

·      Basic understanding of the soccer/youth sports

·      Base knowledge of HTML

·      Desire to work in a non-profit environment

·      Someone who is a go-getter and will come up with ideas to try to improve the overall experience for those around them

Throughout the year, DC Stoddert Soccer seeks energetic and hard-working interns to join its team. The individuals selected will have the opportunity to work with a wide range of projects that cover various elements of the club in the areas of Programs, Development and Events Planning, Communications and Marketing, Graphic Design, and Photography and Video.
